A couple Saturdays ago, we took The Chub on his very first airplane ride ever! Yeah, most people are shocked that it took this long to get him up in the air. I was sad to leave Chub Deuce behind at first, but now I'm glad it was just The Chub because I was worried enough keeping him in check that I wouldn't have enjoyed any part of our expedition keeping watch over two.
So, as Daddy was doing the Pre-Flight Check, we did a little Pre-Flight of our own: (1) The Yoke works!
(2) The cockpit is roomy enough for us!
(3) The propeller is attached and in good working condition.
(4) The wings are low enough for good visibility & to climb under if you're short enough.
(5) The baggage compartment is plenty big enough to carry all we'd need to fly to somewhere like Mexico. Sigh. Someday.
(5) The windows are smudgeable and primed for making funny faces to the birds.
(6) The seats are comfy, and the snacks are ready to eat! Ok...we're ready for takeoff!
This was The Chub's reaction to hearing his Daddy talk to the tower.
This is his reaction to seeing both pilots turn around to smile at us. He's such a ham.
And....this is what Moab looks like in the winter. It was nice to be there within 45 minutes with a good tailwind...as opposed to a 3 hour drive. Ha ha! Thanks Daddy (and Steve) for letting us come along. My favorite quotes of the day were, "Mommy, My flying!", "Mommy, My landed!", and "Bumpy!" (in regards to Daddy's first landing in the new plane...it really wasn't that bad at all...I've been through worse on an airliner.)

Sounds way too fun! Great preflight check. The commercial airlines could use a lesson from you all. I would love to climb around in an airplane, and have snacks just for me, and, and, and. A shortened drive is wonderful. A few hours to SLC instead of two days. Keep having fun.
Oh this is just too cute Nikki! You guys are all so adorable : ) I love the Taits! Especially my two nursery loves : )
You guys live in a little dream world getting to do such fun and amazing things! What a neat experience for such a little guy! I can only imagine his excitement! So fun!
The Chubs coat is so awesome! We have Eric's from when he was a little kid. He has offical patches all over it from Gramps. So cute! I can't believe how big he is getting!
And how many people will that plane hold? Let's all head for the sun and get out of this yucky inversion!! Lucky...what a neat experience for you all!! Looks sooo fun!!
Wow what a fun experience!! The pics to capture the moment were darling! His little jacket is so cute. How fun:)
